Magical MC CIC is a social enterprise with the mission of ensuring all young people have the same opportunities to grow into the ‘Best Version’ of themselves.
We are fulfilling our mission by helping young people become the healthiest they have ever been.
‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’ – World Health Organisation
There are many physical fitness programmes for young people but what makes us unique is that our programmes combine physical fitness with mental and social fitness. When a young person is physically, mentally and socially healthy we believe they can maximize any opportunity that comes into their lives.
1) Our coaching programmes help young people develop a positive mindset and high levels of self-belief.
In order to maximize any opportunity in life you need to be able to spot the opportunity in the first place, this requires a positive mindset. Once you spot the opportunity you then need to believe you are worthy of the opportunity, this requires high levels of self-belief.
2) Our coaching programmes help young people develop their physical fitness
Once you have spotted and grasped hold of an opportunity you then need to take action and set goals to make the opportunity a reality, this requires high levels of energy, determination and resilience.
3) Our coaching programmes help young people develop self-confidence and social skills
Finally, to maximize any opportunity you need to be able to share your vision and bring others onboard to support you, this requires confidence and strong communication skills.
Why our mission matters
The reality is that many young people are struggling more than ever with health-related problems, which will ultimately mean they are unable to become the ‘Best Version’ of themselves and miss out on the many opportunities that come their way in life.
Physical Health
- Nearly 40% of children aged 10 or 11 could be obese by 2024, according to Public Health England.
- The 2019 to 2020 Sports England Active Lives survey showed that only 45% of children and young people met the Chief Medical Officer’s Physical Activity Guidelines
Mental Health
- According to the Imperial College of London the number of mental health related prescriptions or mental health related events where young people saw their GP either for diagnosis, observation or because of a referral, increased threefold between 2015 and 2021.
- The Mental Health Foundation findings suggest 50% of mental health problems amongst adults are established by the age of 14 and 75% by the age of 24.
Social Health
- A survey of 2,000 people aged between 10 and 25 by the Co-op Foundation, found that 95% said they felt lonely
- I CAN estimates that more than 1.5 million UK children and young people risk being left behind in their language development – a direct result of lost learning due to the COVID-19 period
